The Maremma region, in South Tuscany, offers many possibilities to the lovers of sea-sports, thanks to its extremely varied coast-line: well-equipped sandy beaches alternate with rock-reefs and inlets, only accessibile by sea. Maritime recreation Over the past few years the Maremma has geared itself up to attract boat-lovers: modern, well-equipped, port structures are available in various locations along the coast. These are chiefly: Marina di Scarlino, Punta Ala, Castiglione della Pescaia, Marina di San Rocco, Talamone, Porto Santo Stefano, Marina di cala Galera, Porto Ercole. Wind-surfing and water sportsBesides sailing, the Maremman sea can present tourists with every type of water sport: underwater exploration, kayak, beach-fishing, kite-surf, wind-surf. If, instead, you like to take it easy by the seaside, you can sun-bathe on the beautiful beaches around Follonica, the wild Cala Violina, the fashionable Punta Ala and Castiglione della Pescaia, Marina di Alberese (inside the parco della Maremma), the le Rocchette beach, well-equipped and famous for its camping sites, or in the Sterapia park with its turquoise sea. Golf in the MaremmaAnother opportunity for sports activities in the Maremma is offered by its Golf Clubs: 4, 18-hole courses and a 9-hole practise course reveal the ever-growing enthusiasm of this part of Tuscany, also thanks to a natural landscape, so beautiful it leads you to deepen your knowledge of it ‘slowly but surely’.
